Student Guide For Field and Industrial Training

The Alexandria Higher Institute for Engineering and Technology aims to advance the scientific and practical level of its graduates by motivating students to join training opportunities of a distinguished level that help develop and develop their skills and knowledge and enable its graduates to serve the community while achieving integration between theoretical and applied skills.

Field training is one of the important factors in achieving a fruitful integration between the institute and the labor market, as the institute is keen to give its students a sufficient amount of practical experience that contributes to raising the level of their qualification and applying and practicing what has been studied in a real work environment, which increases their skills and develops their expertise and enables them to succeed in Different job sites in the future. It also allows different institutions to get to know the students to choose the most suitable of them for different job positions after their graduation. This contributes to raising the rate of employment of the institute's graduates.

Therefore, industrial field training is one of the basic requirements for graduation, without which the student will not be able to obtain a graduation certificate.

For the institute to provide enough practical experience for its students, it has paid great attention to the field training program in coordination with the various work sectors under the supervision and follow-up of the institute according to a specific mechanism to ensure that the desired goals are achieved. In confirmation of this, field training is compulsory according to the institute's regulations.


How does the student obtain appropriate training opportunities?

  • Providing opportunities for industrial field training with the knowledge of the student. In this case, the student can obtain a training letter, and its procedures are as follows:
    1. The student goes to Student Affairs and obtains a training portfolio.
    2. The student pays the specified fees in the institute's treasury according to the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education in this regard and obtains a receipt.
    3. The student directs the payment receipt to the training unit and submits a training request to obtain the training letter within 48 hours of applying, along with providing all the required data so that the training unit can follow up on the students during the training.
  • Providing opportunities for training through the Institute. The Institute strives through the Training Unit to provide appropriate opportunities for training students through the conclusion of cooperation protocols and agreements and coordination with several elite companies, factories, and government agencies. Priority is given to obtaining these opportunities for distinguished students, and the available training opportunities are announced first. The training unit has billboards at the institute and through the institute's website.
  • The Institute works to provide opportunities for internal training at the Institute for the student by holding training courses in various disciplines, whether through faculty members and members of the assisting staff at the Institute or through the assistance of various training companies, and the duration of these courses is calculated within the training period prescribed for the student.


What the student should consider during the training

  • The student must attend the qualifying course for training, which is held at the Institute regularly and is announced at the beginning of each training period, to educate the student about the nature of the training and what the student must do before, during, and after the training. For that session, a week is counted from the training period prescribed for the student.
  • The student must abide by the dates of attendance and departure set for training with the company because this affects the student's evaluation at the training agency.
  • After the student has completed the training, the student copies an electronic copy of the training report posted on the Institute's website and completes the data listed therein after completing the training.
  • At the end of each training period, the student is keen to submit the documents that prove his proper training to the Training Unit at the Institute, which are: :
    1. (2) copies of the training certificate for the student + the original for viewing.
    2. Training report prepared by the student on his training.
    3. Presentation by the student on CD.
  • An internal evaluation of the student's training is conducted during the final year before graduation, so the student must follow the announcements of the training unit and adhere to the announced internal evaluation dates for training.
  • Before reaching the fourth year, the student must have completed at least 85% of the training period prescribed for him in the training regulations, which is equivalent to forty-five training days out of the total sixty training days prescribed for the student, and he must finish the rest of the period before graduation.
  • The student must abide by all the regulations and laws issued by the Training Unit and the Institute's management, which stem from the instructions and decisions of the Ministry of Higher Education. Therefore, the student must always review the advertisements on the various bulletin boards of the Institute, as well as the Institute's website, and inquire from the Training Unit of the Institute when needed.
