Alexandria Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology participated in the second international conference on modern trends of sustainable energy organized by the Faculty of Engineering at Pharos University in Alexandria under the patronage of Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Governor of Alexandria, which was held for two days, 5-6 November 2018, In cooperation with the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). The conference aims to combine the academic perspective and the industrial perspective in the development of means of production in sophisticated ways that do not lead to the depletion of natural resources so as to keep up with the needs of the current generation without wasting the rights of future generations.

The conference was attended by Dr. Mustafa Nasr, Dean of the Institute, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Fattah Rajab, Vice Chairman of the Board and Dr. Hiba Haddad, Executive Director of the Scientific Research Unit. The Institute participated in the conference with four research papers. Where he participated Dr. Omar Yassin teacher at the Department of Communications and Electronics Institute with Dr. Mohamed Harb, a teacher at the Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology, Beijing Mariout, entitled "Characterization of supercapacitors using Artificial Neural Network Fitting Tool"

Dr. Lemaa Abdullah Al-Morsi, the Department of Basic Sciences at the Institute, participated with Dr. Tareq Al-Shennawi of Alexandria National Company for Refining and Petrochemicals with a paper entitled Evaluation of Electrical Energy Conservation Opportunity in Industry Dr. Tamih Tawfiq and Dr. Hassan Al-Shobashi, lecturers at the Department of Mechatronics Engineering participated in a paper entitled "Using Computer Assisted Programs to Design Methane Generation Plant in Accordance with the Specifications of Use in Domestic Stove from Organic Waste".
